Nick Carter’s most personal album to date is finally here. ‘Love Life Tragedy’ is a raw, reflective collection of pop-rock anthems and heartfelt ballads, capturing the highs and heartbreaks of a life lived in the spotlight. With tracks like “Storms,” “Cold Night,” and “Hurts To Love You,” this album dives deep – and comes back stronger.
Created alongside powerhouse producers and longtime collaborators, ‘Love Life Tragedy’ is more than just an album – it’s a journey.
The Love Life Tragedy album is a powerful reflection of Nick Carter’s journey through the highs and lows of life. This storied collection of songs – which Carter dedicates to fans around the world – presents an authentic, vulnerable view of his evolution as both an artist and human being. The album leads listeners through an emotional journey by combining upbeat tracks like “Easy” and “Dirty Laundry” with slower songs such as “Cold Night” and “Don’t Let Go.” The emotional peak of the album arrives with “Storms,” a moving ballad about facing life’s biggest challenges while maintaining a message of hope: “I’m gonna make it.” And hope is the throughline of Carter’s Love Life Tragedy album, so together all may claim: “I’m gonna make it.”
Alongside the new album, Nick has released episode one of a six-episode comic book-themed music video series. In the first episode, “Hurts To Love You,” we’re introduced to our main character as a lonely, isolated teen. He’s an outsider at school who’s bullied by classmates. This episode sets the emotional foundation for the story, a boy who feels like he doesn’t belong, grappling with betrayal from someone he still loves. It “hurts to love” someone who makes you feel so alone.
Sparking his career at the age of 12, Nick Carter quickly became an international pop superstar as the youngest member of the iconic boy band, Backstreet Boys. With his boyish good looks and heartthrob status, Carter’s 30-year entertainment journey has extended far beyond sold-out arenas, encompassing a diverse range of projects in television, film, philanthropy, and publishing.
In 2002, Carter ventured into a solo career with his debut album, Now or Never, released under Jive Records. It debuted impressively at #17 on the Billboard 200 chart and received Gold certification in the United States, Japan, and Canada. This marked the beginning of a successful solo journey, complementing his fame as a member of the Backstreet Boys. Since then, Carter has released two additional solo albums I’m Taking Off in 2012 followed by All American in 2016. Notably, his 2023 single “Hurts to Love You” became his most successful track, charting in seven different countries, topping the charts in the United States and charting number one in Canada.
In 2004, Carter made his foray into the world of film and television, starring in the remake of the classic horror film “Sleepy Hollow” called “The Hollow.” Carter further showcased his acting skills through various film appearances on TV shows such as the CW Network’s revived series “90210.” In 2014, Carter and his now wife, Lauren Kitt, made their reality TV debut as a couple on the VH1 series “I Heart Nick Carter.” Furthermore, he participated in season four of Fox’s hit show, “The Masked Singer,” as well as the 21st season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” making it to the finals on both series.
During his time on “Dancing with the Stars,” Nick and Lauren announced that they were expecting their first child together. On April 19, 2016, they joyfully welcomed their son, Odin. The family expanded further with the arrival of their daughter Saoirse on October 2, 2019, and their youngest daughter, Pearl, on April 21, 2021.
In 2023, Carter wrapped another massive tour with the Backstreet Boys, “The DNA World Tour”, before embarking on his first solo tour in seven years, the international “Who I Am” tour, which kicked off in the U.S. in October 2023 and followed the release of three new solo singles, “Superman,” “Made For Us,” and “Never Break My Heart (Not Again).” Due to popular demand, the “Who I Am” tour continued through 2024, with performances spanning across Europe, North America, and South America, and was extended through 2025, reaching territories across Asia and the Middle East.
In February 2025, the Backstreet Boys announced their “Into The Millenium” residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, set to run from July to August 2025. This year, Carter also released two new singles, “Stages,” on March 14, 2025 and “Hey Kid” on April 1, 2025, leading up to his most recent solo album “LOVE LIFE TRAGEDY,” which was released on May 15, 2025. Upon release, “Nick Carter’s new solo album soars into the Top 10” (Forbes) across multiple iTunes charts, debuting at No. 1 on the Worldwide Top Albums chart, No. 1 on the U.S. Top Pop Albums chart, No. 4 on the U.S. Top Albums chart, and numerous top placements internationally, including Canada, Mexico, and multiple European territories. Alongside the album, Carter released a six-part comic-book style video series. Each episode featured a different track from the album which created a unique visual experience to accompany the overall project.
The “Who I Am” Tour, which has already completed successful legs in the United States, Canada, and South America, marks Nick Carter’s return to the stage as a solo artist after seven years. The “Who I Am” Tour will take Nick to Asia and Europe, finishing up 2024 on a second leg in North America after his first successful run in 2023.
